What is sterilisation?
Sterilisation frees utensils from bacteria or other living microorganisms.
Why should you sterilise infantfeeding utensils?
There are times when germs are life threatening and must be eradicated by effective infection control practices, this is particularly true for babies.
until a baby is a year old their immune system is weak and does not have the ability to create essential cells to combat naturally occurring microorganisms.
A BOX CONSIST OF 60 STERILISING TABLETS
FEATURES:
1. To prepare the correct sterilising solution add one tablet to 4 pints (2.3 litres) of lukewarm water in a suitable non-metallic container.
2. Clean utensils thoroughly after each feed. Clean bottles and teats thoroughly with warm soapy water. Rub teats inside and out to remove all milk deposits.
Rinse with cold water.
3. Completely immerse all feeding utensils in the prepared solution, ensuring there are no trapped air bubbles. Sterilisation is complete after 30 minutes, but all utensils should be left in the solution until they are required
4. Wash your hands before removing utensils from the solution. Drain bottles, teat and other items before use. Fill the bottle immediately and cover teats.
